Hello,

a bit about me:

I am originally from Virginia and grew up in Tuscaloosa, AL.  I completed both of my degrees at the University of Alabama.  My undergrad degree in Finance and then later my MBA from the Manderson Business School through their Executive MBA program

I started Castle Wealth Advisors, LLC because I wanted to provide ethical and approachable financial planning and investment management to individuals and business owners, concerned with their financial futures, regardless of age, sex, race, or net worth.

I've always believed clients should work with reputable, qualified, and experienced advisors.  So it was important to me to gain industry experience as well as pursuing additional industry specific designations.  I have passed the following licensing exams:

  • Series 7, General Securities Representative

  • Series 66, Investment Advisor Representative

  • Series 9 & 10, General Securities Sales Supervisor

  • California Life, Health, and Variable Insurance (License #0K01554)

I also hold the following industry designations:

I have been in the financial services industry since 2006 and have work with many differing type of clients over the years.  One thing I know to be true, everyone wants to feel heard and cared about.  Meaning everyone I have ever worked with wants to feel like their desires, wants and needs have been heard and taken into consideration when speaking about their personal financial matters.

Many people have the same goals, they just express them differently, and then there are a few whose view and desires are completely different.  This is one of the aspects I love about my job.  The PEOPLE!  I get to meet some many interesting people and they challenge me daily.  No day in my line of work is the same.  Today I could be planning for a family who owns a small business and tomorrow working with a woman going through a painful divorce.  Listening and building financial plans and strategies around personal needs are why many of my clients have said they do business with me and have stayed with me.

Another reason I love my job… I get to truly HELP people.  I get to make a living and provide for my family while helping others.  I became interested in building estate plans and structuring investments for families with special needs children because a friend of mine growing up has special needs.  One day I was thinking about her situation and thought about the many obstacles they faced financially.  I began to research who in our area was working with these families and I was shocked to see so few.  I decided to make it a priority to get involved with organizations and other professionals who could benefit from my background in financial services.  This is one example of how my job gives me the satisfaction of service to others while providing services to them.

I believe women should understand their finances and be involved in the investment, retirement and estate planning in their households.  Many need to understand because they are the head of the household while others need to have an understanding because as we all know there are many changes in life.  While the country has a divorce rate of 50%, sadly California’s divorce rate is around 80%.  This means that given all the statists of women outliving men and our high divorce rate, many women will find themselves needing an understanding of their investment strategy and retirement plans.  I think back many times to how my grandmother, a mother of 6 and grandmother of 8, struggled after the passing of her husband.  She had never been involved in the financial planning for herself and my grandfather.  When he passed she didn’t know how to manage her finances, pay the bills, or how to run their small business.  Her estate documents were the biggest issue as they did not express “her” wishes.  She like many others did not speak up when the documents were being drafted and allowed my grandfather to speak on her behalf.  She had 6 children and 5 of those with my grandfather and 1 from a previous marriage.  My grandfather provided for his 5 children and then had the attorney to write the wills with the same language.  So, my grandmother by default disinherited her oldest son and opened her estate up not only to claims to be made against it and high court costs but the most damaging, arguments and hurt feelings among family members.  Because I have seen firsthand the impact of improper planning, I deeply believe it is vitally important for everyone, not just women, to understand and be involved in planning.

Over my career I have felt a need to dive deeper into financial planning and working with high net worth individuals who have greater planning and investing needs.  Listed below I have highlighted a few of the areas I specialize in:

  • Women in transition (divorce/ death)

  • Corporate Executives

  • Young Entrepreneurs

  • Small Business Owners

  • Family With Special Needs Members

  • Complex Retirement and Estate Planning Needs

Currently I live in Brentwood and really enjoy the West Side of Los Angeles.  I am actively involved with the Junior League of Los Angeles.  I have a passion for trying new things and new experiences.  So, in my free time I love traveling and scuba diving.  I also am interested in learning French, taking pilot’s lessons and dancing the tango!
